Systems biology-based modelling and optimisation of cellular metabolism

Analysis of cellular metabolism with different types of mathematical methods: differential equation systems are used for metabolic pathway-scale kinetic models, and linear algebra is used for genome-scale stoichiometric models. In biotechnology, we propose to engineer organisms to improve production characteristics. In medicine, we analyse the effects of various defects on cell metabolism and how to correct them.
