The Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTO) of the University of Latvia (UL) is continuing its series of online workshops on copyright and intellectual property protection for UL researchers and doctoral students in the MS Teams environment, which commenced last year. Additionally, we have created a global system for registering and protecting know-how, so that researchers in the humanities and social sciences are especially encouraged to comprehend their new opportunities and challenges.

Purpose: to provide general information and advice on intellectual property policies and practices at UL, including the identification, registration, and management of intellectual property, publications and confidentiality, license auctions and sales, processes and procedures, as well as news and current events.

Format: each workshop will be a free meeting featuring stories, questions and answers, and discussions, with a total duration of 40-45 minutes. The workshops will be held once or twice a month. The planned number of workshops is 6 times, though it may vary depending on the expressed interest and the volume of possible questions and discussions. Participation in every workshop is free, and they will be led by intellectual property experts from the Patent Office, Ministry of Culture, State Plant Protection Service and KTO.

The fourth meeting on the topic “Trademarks” is scheduled for February 15 at 15:00.

Timetable of Workshops.
